17 Awesome Bedroom Organization Ideas You Can Do Before Holidays

October 17, 2017 by adminPO

Don’t allow the holidays to come without being ready for it, here are some awesome bedroom organization ideas for you to do, and they’re super easy!

Do These Bedroom Organization Ideas For The Holidays

Whether managing the lights and darks, or compartmentalizing your drawers to separate paired items, or creating new storage items to help you with all your things, you can do easy bedroom organizing before the holiday starts to kick in. The holiday will keep you busy, so you better start adapting some bedroom organization ideas to make your life easier. Take it from me because I learned these things the hard way. Check out all the different ways you can organize efficiently. See the list below and tell me what works best for you!

1. Additional Containers For Small Bedroom

image via home talk

This is so effective for small bedroom spaces because you’re maximizing the space above and below your closet. It makes life easy by compelling you to sort out the lights and the darks, too! Though you can customize these containers according to your needs, like storing seasonal items apart from clothes.

2. Create Floating Shelves

image via 4 men 1 lady

Use some space that seems to be dead or awkward and turn it into something useful! This corner looks like you can’t put anything in there but with the help of shelves, it turns out to be a storage space that can hold books, vases, and other items you wish to display. Take a look at your corners at home and see if you can apply this trick.

3. Dollar Store Storage Bins With Custom Metal Tags

image via little house of four

Who thought bins could look this chic and personalized? With the help of an upgrade and custom tags, these dollar-store bins can be your storage friend. Put your craft items, supplies, hair accessories or just about anything else in these storage bins, and you’ll see some improvement in your bedroom organization.

4. DIY Storage For Transient Items

image via hardly housewives

Remember the items you have in your room that shouldn’t really have a permanent space? Books from the library, gifts you have to give, seasonal clothes, and used things you want to donate? Store them like this, with correct labels. It’s very efficient because you can organize them and at the same time, not forget what to do with them. You also know what is inside by writing it on the label area.

5. Organize Your Closet Space

image via lookie what I did

You take a look at your closet space and think it’s full, but really, you just did not maximize the space. Avoid piling up your clothes and other items. Use racks to properly organize your closet, and have wires, hooks, or pins where you can hang your items. Also, place similar items together and put them in one place. Indeed, organizing makes life easier.

6. Hanging Jewelry Organizer

image via a time for everything

Take good care of your precious jewelry and accessories with this kind of storage. Hang those necklaces to avoid coiling, and for easy access too. Sort rings and other items in boxes. For your dangling earrings, hook them up on the board. This will eliminate the chance of losing a piece or two, or wasting time finding your accessories.

7. DIY Ladder Shoe Shelf

image via a pair and a spare diy

This type of shoe storage is a clever hack for those who want to gain the easiest access to their shoes. I can imagine having one in my room, and being able to plan my outfit already because I can see my shoes! Also, a lot of shoe storage idea often take more space than necessary. This might do the trick for your room.

8. Custom Drawer Organizers

image via the idea room

Drawers are organizers in themselves but sometimes, it’s not enough to just put your clothing items in there. When it involves so many pieces that are different from one another, it would be wise to have drawer organizers. This way your socks won’t mix up with your scarves, hankies, or with your shoelaces.

9. Closet Makeover With Dressing Room Space

image via paper daisy design

With proper organization, your bedroom can hold so many essential items. Take this area in the bedroom– it looks narrow but it has maximized as much space as possible. The shelves near the ceiling can store up your bags and other items.

10. Organized Office Corner In Your Room

image via the crafted life

Some bedrooms also hold mini offices, enough for your desk, computer, supplies and work documents. You can avoid the clutter by using drawers to organize most of your office items. This way you stay productive in the confines of your bedroom.

11. Pegboard With Shelves and Organizers

image via white house black shutters

If a big table or desk can use up a large space in your bedroom, go for a smaller one. Don’t worry about where to put your office supplies and papers. A pegboard can definitely help you with that. Use a pegboard and attach racks, rolls, hooks, and other things to hold your items. It would be a truly organized mini office inside your bedroom.

12. Cake Stand Display

image via makeup and beauty blog

Yes, cake stands can hold other items too. Place the cake stand on your desk, side table or vanity table and place several items so you can easily locate them. Got plenty of perfume bottles? Place it there. Want to put all your makeup in one place? The cake stand would be the perfect spot.

13. Under The Bed Drawers

Whether your bedroom is large or small these organizing ideas will keep everything in order, giving you relaxing place to rest in. The empty space under your bed can be used as a practical space with these under the bed drawers. Made by installing wheels to a wooden box, or you can repurpose old drawer from a chest.

14. Make Use Of Headboard Space

image via hgtv

Make use of headboard storage space by integrating shelving for everything from books and lamps to favorite framed photos. You can purchase shelved headboards, or build your own out of old drawers or pallets.

15. Minimize Laundry Space

image via making nice in the midwest

Save some space with a hanging laundry hamper hiding discreetly at the back of a door. It’s easy to create your own with fabric and an embroidery hoop.

16. Keep Your Trash Bin Out Of Sight

Everyone needs to store trash somewhere. The only issue is that any trash bin will use at least a square foot of space. Until it doesn’t because you’re going to hide yours in a tilting cabinet. Not only will it keep your waste out of sight, but it’ll also double as a makeup counter or nightstand.

11 Awesome Garage Storage Ideas To Keep Your Tools Organized

October 14, 2017 by adminPO

Cabinets aren’t the only type of storage device you can build to deposit all your mechanic tools and household items. Tools just can’t lie around. But with new household equipment pouring in from fix after fix, it’s becoming more and more difficult to find a room to simply stock everything. Make the best use out of your space with these do-it-yourself garage storage ideas and maximize what you can do with the entire area–without having to spend so much as a few bucks!

11 Awesome Garage Storage Ideas To Keep Your Tools Organized

Back when I was still starting out on woodworking and other DIY projects, my tools had no place to go. They were just lying on the table, or on the ground, and sometimes, in the weirdest places, like the kitchen drawer. It took me quite a while to sort out and find ways to store my tools inside the garage. Believe me when I say that these storage ideas that I am about to show you really work and they can do wonders for your storage needs. Here are several garage storage ideas that you can use!

1. Overhead Storage

Image via Artsy Building Lady

Suspended shelving might just be for you if you’re planning to make use of every square foot of your garage. Normally used for tools not commonly used, shelves positioned overhead may accommodate those looking for better space.

2. Mounted Wall Rails

Image via DIY Network

Overhead storage may keep your bigger, less commonly-used tools stocked, but tools that are smaller need a more accessible and organized type of storage space. For a cost-effective and easy way of storing your commonly-used small tools, you may opt for mounted wall rails.

3. Hanging Jars

Image via Chez Larsson

For a more creative and cost-efficient storage of small materials such as nails, bits, and screws, use simple household materials to create hanging jars. Not only are they easy to make, they are easy to utilize as well, allowing easy access to the smallest tools of your DIY arsenal.

4. Tire Racks

Image via Small Town DJs

If you have spare tires that litter around your garage, making tire racks will perhaps be the most beneficial way to go for you, saving space that you can use for more cabinets and shelves.

5. Shelves

Image via HGTV

Shelves, shelves, good ole shelves. They never grow out of fashion for their obvious usability and ease-of-use. If you’re not too worried about space on the ground, a shelf is always an option.

6. Coat Hooks

Image via APMG

Coat hooks aren’t just for coats. Spare bags or dirty rags can be neatly arranged on coat hooks too. Coat hooks can give your garage not just a more usable space, but a nifty aesthetic feel as well.

7. Re-purpose

Image via Hometalk

The best (and most enjoyable) idea among these garage storage ideas would be to repurpose old, unused things at home to build your own garage storage device. Old plaster boards and unused hooks are great materials to use when making shelves, cabinets, or even vertical storage.

8. Jumbo Tape Dispenser

Image via Popular Woodworking

Remember those tape dispensers that you had lying around on your desk? Well, you can create your own tape dispenser for your garage! Think of it as an awesome way to keep track of where your tapes are and how much of them are left. You can check out how this was made right here.

9. Suspending sliding Storage System

Image via Family Handyman

Think of them as overhead drawers, if you will. A sliding storage system, like this one, can keep a lot of tools organized without taking up too much space. Let’s face it, we’ve all had to deal with cluttered boxes of stored tools, right? This suspending storage system is a must-have for every DIY enthusiast. Just make sure that the containers are durable and sturdy.

10. The Screwdriver Coat Rack

Image via Homemade Modern

DIY enthusiasts know what it’s like to lose a couple of screwdrivers, especially when you need them for certain projects. I can no longer count how many screwdrivers have come and gone inside my workshop. Either the magical screwdriver fairy took them away or I have a bad habit of forgetting Where I placed them. This screwdriver coat rack is going to help you keep your screwdrivers together while saving tons of shelf and drawer space.

11. Truss Shelves

Image via Ana White

This is an amazing way to store tools because it not only serves its purpose, but it also adds a dash of minimalism to your garage. The slanting design of truss shelves allows you to store your items without the shelves looking like a complete eyesore. Think of it as a pyramid. You can sort out your most commonly used tools by placing them on the bottom shelf and the least used tools on the top.

Check out this awesome video from Lowe’s Home Improvement as they show us these amazing garage storage ideas:

To help you out with organizing your tools, I suggest you list down everything beforehand. This will help you decide on which of these garage storage ideas would be best for them.

October 10, 2017 by adminPO

Be warned, these man cave ideas might have you staying in your favorite room the whole day. Grab a beer and check out which DIYs to cross off your list.

Man Cave Ideas | DIY Furnishings For The Man By The Man

Sometimes, guys just need to get away from it all. That’s what a man cave is for. In it, I can’t be bothered with anything happening in the outside world — it’s my safe place. And with these man cave ideas, it’ll definitely stay that way.

1. Denim Ottoman

image via Pillar Box Blue

This denim ottoman is great for hiding unwanted clutter in the man cave. Personally, I use it as a storage compartment for all my video game controllers, but I bet you could place just about anything you want inside.

2. Wine Barrel Coffee Table

Got a wine barrel you have no idea what to do with? Turn it into a coffee table. Use a ratchet strap to help align the area where you’ll be cutting the barrel in half. Don’t forget to ensure the strap is straight.

3. Magnetic Bottle Opener

image via Rugged Fellows Guide

I like leaving this magnetic bottle opener on the door of my fridge. That way, I won’t even have to open drawers looking for a bottle opener anymore.

4. Dart Board Backing

image via Tiny Cabin Big Dreams

Lauren loves wine like crazy so she always has a ton of spare wine bottles and corks laying around. One of the good things that have come out of this — apart from our usual wine nights — is this backing I’ve constructed for my dart board. It doesn’t hurt that my wall has an added layer of protection against my darts as well.

5. Crate Toilet Paper Holder

image via Funky Junk Interiors

Who would’ve thought a wooden crate could be used as a toilet paper holder? I sure didn’t! Now all I have to do is find an old license plate I can use to place on the crate.

6. Jack Daniels Soap Dispenser

My buddies and I love a good bottle of Jack Daniels, which is why I’m pretty excited to be making this DIY. It’s so simple too. Literally, all I have to do is just pour the liquid soap into the bottle, and attach the head of the soap dispenser on top. That’s it!

7. DIY Hooks From Wrenches

image via The Black Workshop

These DIY hooks are made from spare wrenches I had from an old tool box. The secret to getting them to bend is to simply heat up the tool a bit. Just be careful when you bend the ends together.

8. Wood Slice Serving Board

image via Manmade DIY

This wood slice serving board won’t cost you above $10, even if it looks fancy. Start by looking for dried and seasoned hardwood stumps. If you can’t find any, head to your nearest craft store and look for a basswood slice.

9. Pallet Coffee Table

If you want to make a big coffee table for your man cave, you may need to increase the number of wood pallets on hand. This tutorial uses 3 pallets, but you can add or reduce these according to the size of the table you’d prefer.

10. Industrial Bookshelf

image via DIY ESQ

Give your books a manlier home by placing them in an industrial bookshelf. Begin by laying out how you want your shelf to look like on the wall. Do this by attaching strips of masking tape to help visualize your project.

11. Wall Pallet Arrow

image via Love Grows Wild

My man cave is my sanctuary. So to help me remind myself to leave all problems at the door, I’ve put in a wood pallet arrow on the wall. It’s kind of my way of telling myself to leave all the bad vibes outside.

12. Penny Tiled Floor

image via Pretty Purple Door

A penny for your thoughts? How about some pennies for your floor? This DIY makes use of your unwanted pennies by placing strong glue and pressing your coins onto the floor.

13. Pallet Bar

image via Infarrantly Creative

Always dreamed of having your own man cave bar? Well, now you can make one using some pallets. Don’t forget to add in wooden boards behind the front frame of your bar. Doing so will ensure a sturdier furniture piece.

14. Beer Bottle Glasses

image via DIY Projects

Put your empty beer bottles to good use by turning them into glasses. By the way, sand the edges once the glass is cut. You’ll definitely need to make sure the mouth of the glass is smooth.

15. Balancing Bookshelf

image via Manmade DIY

This installation piece looks super cool and functions as an awesome bookshelf. Just remember not to put too many books on one side, as it could make the whole shelf fall.

16. Suitcase Shelves

image via A Diamond In The Stuff

Want more shelf options? These suitcase shelves are definitely one of my man cave statement pieces. By the way, I’ve found it’s best to take out the lining inside the suitcases before beginning the DIY, as they can get a bit smelly.

Bonus Inspiration!

17. Barrel Bed

image via Instash

I’ve got to say. This barrel bed sure looks pretty inviting. If I had one, I reckon I’d have some of the most relaxing naps ever.

18. Tire Sinks

image via Mara Beel

Take your favorite room up a notch by installing these tire sinks in your bathroom. This would be perfect for a radiator springs man cave concept.

19. Nintendo Controller Coffee Table

image via Manmade DIY

Would you believe this Nintendo controller coffee table actually functions? I know! I’m honestly really tempted to buy this online. It would take my gaming to a whole new level.

To be honest, I can already imagine myself holing away in my man cave for the rest of the day after just writing this article. Who knows? Maybe I’ll have a new furniture piece in the form of that Nintendo coffee table in the next few couple of weeks.

Young House Love Must-Try DIY | Rustic Centerpiece Box

October 9, 2017 by adminPO

If you’re a dedicated DIYer, you must’ve already heard about Young House Love, but if you haven’t, they’re actually one of the most influential DIY, home decorating and home improvement bloggers to check out.  And I got my hands on their DIY rustic centerpiece box project in time for my fall decorating. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this as much as I did!

Young House Love | How To Make A Centerpiece Box

I love the fall holiday season, and of course having a great project to go with it makes it even more perfect. You can imagine how excited I was when I found this elegant rustic centerpiece box. It’s a very versatile DIY and highly customizable to fit any season. Super easy to make, any DIYer can put this together in no time and be ready for decorating. Let’s get started!

What You’ll Need:

Tools:

  • Tape Measure
  • Pencil
  • Miter Saw
  • Clamps
  • Sanding Block
  • Drill/Driver/Screwdriver

Materials:

  • 1 6 Ft. Piece Of 1×4
  • Wood Glue
  • Wood Stain
  • Paint Brush
  • Rag
  • 8  Pieces Corner Braces
  • 3 Mason Jars
  • Chalkboard Spray Paint
  • Drop Cloth/Cardboard
  • Styling Items

How To Make A Centerpiece Box:

Step 1: Measure And Cut The Wood

Carefully measure and cut the wood accordingly. In this project, you’ll need 5 pieces to form the box. Two longer sides measure 20″ each, two smaller sides measure 3 3/8″ each, and a bottom piece measures 18 1/2″.

Step 2: Assemble The Box

Before putting together the wood pieces to form the box, sand the edges to ensure it looks finished. Then, lay down the bottom piece, attach the 2 smaller pieces on both ends, and then attach the two longer sides. Once you’re satisfied with how they look, glue the pieces together, clamp it in place, and let it dry.

Step 3: Spray Paint The Mason Jars

Spray paint the mason jars with chalkboard paint. Remove the mason jar lids and set aside upside down, to make sure you don’t get any spray paint inside and the whole outside will get properly coated.

Step 4: Stain The Box

Once you’re sure that glue has dried, remove the clamps and apply some stain onto the box. You can use a brush or a rag to apply the stain. Once you have the entire box covered, let it sit for a couple of minutes to allow the stain to soak in, then wipe it off with a rag.

Tip: The longer you let the stain settle the deeper your color will be.

Step 5: Install Corner Braces

Install corner braces on each corner just to add a little hardware to the box and make it look more finished. Also, if the seams aren’t perfect, the braces will cover that. Your box is now ready!

Step 6: Decorating

My favorite part, decorating! Put a tea light inside your mason jars and place the mason jars inside your box. Once you light up the tea light your mason jars will look like a mercury glass. Add a bit of greenery outside to boost its beauty or you can simply decorate it with any fall theme decor you have in mind and make it shine for the season.

Talk about an affordable, unique, and stylish home decor project that gives you unlimited possibilities for decorating! This is surely a must-try DIY to add a bit wow factor to your home! Good luck!
